Professor Jenny Walsh

Dr Jen Walsh holds joint appointments as a Research Fellow in the Department of Pulmonary Physiology and Sleep Medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and as a Lecturer in the School of Human Sciences at the University of Western Australia.
Jen has been working as a Research Fellow in Sleep Science/Medicine since 2004 investigating the pathogenesis (mechanisms) of, and treatments for, sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea and insomnia.  She has a particular interest in the influence of head, body and jaw posture on sleep-disordered breathing and the influence of sedatives and anaesthetics on upper airway function.
Jen also spends a fair amount of time educating people about sleep science and sleep health.  She was heavily involved in the development of three post-graduate courses in Sleep Science and Dental Sleep Medicine and remains actively involved in delivering the online and practical components of these courses.
