Induction : PP Hugh Frost re-inducted Darren Meakins into Scarborough Rotary & welcomed back into the fold. Darren responded accordingly and said that he had brought several members of his former club (Mindarie) to see how the Scarborough Club operates.

Pres Mike : Reported good news! After considerable searching a copy of our By-Laws has been located thanks to Des Cousins.
On a sad note, Mike reported that Des has decided to resign from the club but the Board has offered Des Honorary membership.
Mike also announced that Di Allen has resigned.
Mike also reminded members that next weeks meeting will be an evening occasion at the WA Golf Club with partners. Also from 5th May we will be meeting in the old room (Hurrah) while LKCC renovates the current room.
Josie Kopsen : Josie gave an overview of the "Dismantle" project that taught youth how to restore bicycles.
Bob Phelps : Reported on the Surfing event on the Scarborough Beach foreshore and how the development there has been extremely well received. Bob observed that all the Scarborough Life Saving tents & canopies had RC of Scarborough logos & advertising on them.
Diana Godson : Reported on behalf of W4Ks that they had received a letter stating the disposal of the last assets of the philanthropist family of, Mr Peter Albany Bell, the descendants, trustee committee of the Children's Orchards have selected "WheelChairs For Kids" to be a charity that deserves a $141,216 donation.
SwapMart: No one reported a good day with 208 bays sold with takings of $3969.

Guest Speaker: President Mike introduced Dr Chris Jones. Chris delivered a very informative talk on the evolution of the Electric Vehicle, its history from 1884 to 2004-8 Tesla cars, the benefits and what the future holds for us. Chris spoke about 'Disruptive Technologies" and how they had changed our lives. Chris's presentation can be downloaded below.
After answering many questions from members Chris was thanked for his presentation by Pres Mike.

Chase the Ace: Bruce Bennett won the bottle of wine but unfortunately the jackpot continues as he drew the nine of clubs. The Jackpot now stands at $855.
