BEFORE President Paul called for club announcements he made mention of the egg timer and The bell which had been presented to him by our programmes coordinator ...Peter Whyte...
These two items symbolise the time one can take making announcements and at the Presidents Discretion the bell can be rung warning the speaker that his time has run down... Our Peter Whyte wasted no time explaining these symbols of respect.
ANNOUNCEMENTS :
Jerry Pilcher asked all club members to keep an eye out for the missing club camera. If any member knows where it is, could they arrange for it to be returned to our new club service director....
Therese Porrit spoke briefly about a Chinese ceramic exhibition which is showing at the WA Art Gallery, and called for interested parties to join her in a visit to see this exhibition next Friday 9th meeting at the front of the gallery at 10am.

Rotarian Geoff Ivanac’ expert summation in thanking John Kobelke was warmly applauded by all. The explanatory Knowledge by John Kobelke’s was exceptional and very much appreciated by everyone who was lucky enough to be in attendance .John was rewarded with a very loud appreciative ovation.

Closing: President Paul then closed the meeting telling the storey of his dog named “Rotary” which his family nurtured as a pup for 2 years. Before “Rotary” joined the constabulary as a drug sniffer where he served for 7 years. Rotary ..the police dog was a gift from the Rotary Club of Mount Hawthorn... a great vocational success.
