Water in AfricaPhil Hepworth has worked in the irrigation industry for the majority of his career. In 2010, Phil had a life changing moment which propelled him on a journey when he saw a statistic that ‘one child dies every 15 seconds from water related diseases’. His heart was challenged to do something so he enrolled in a drilling course through Living Water International Texas, USA, where he obtained a Shallow Water Drilling Certificate. After obtaining his certificate, Phil worked with Lance Whyle of Living Water International helping to provide clean water for 3 years. Lance retired and 2013 saw the birth of Water for Africa. Since then Phil has travelled 3-4 times each year to Tanzania, often accompanied by his wife and a team of volunteers to bring safe clean water to the beautiful people.

Planning and practical challenges undertaken by oversized / overmass vehicles on WA roads
Peter Lewis has been with the Main Roads Dept for over 12 years and is now the Heavy Vehicle Technical Officer . His presentation will provide an overview of Heavy Vehicles and oversize movements . Road transport makes a vital contribution to Western Australia's economy . Due to the State's remote and rugged nature , there is often no alternative but to move very large items by road . Vehicles carrying over sized and over mass ( OSOM ) loads come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes , typically moving much more slowly than ordinary traffic and taking up a greater proportion of road than other vehicles . The movement of OSOM loads by road is strictly regulated to ensure safety for all road users .
