The Nokor Tep Hospital, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
DR ANITA BOURKE is a respected senior breast radiologist with a special interest and skills in breast cancer screening and assessment, diagnosis, intervention and research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Breast Centre. She is a Clinical Senior lecturer at UWA. As the first person in WA to train in the two specialities, both radiologist and nuclear medicine, Dr Bourke is regularly invited to speak at local and national scientific meetings. She publishes regularly. More recently she has been invited to help with setting up the Nokor Tep
Women's Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and this is her topic today.
I am helping with setting up the new women's hospital, The Nokor Tep Hospital, Phnom Penh, Cambodia (breast and gynaecology) which is currently being built.
It has been amazing the incredibly positive response I have had from all the Perth professionals I have asked so far for support
Together I hope we can improve the lives of the Cambodian people. If we could all help with support staff in Phnom Penh, both at start up and later with on-going training to aid them in providing quality patient care for breast and gynaecological problems I believe we will all be the better for it.
As a community, my hope is SCGH will look after the Breast clinic and care and King Edward Hospital will look after the Gynaecological aspects.
